Computer cases are available in all shapes & sizes. They vary greatly in qulaity. When you by a case it may or may not come with a power supply. The most popular types of case are micro & midi there are also full tower cases. Micro cases can only take micro-ATX motherboards. Midi can usually take both micro-ATX & ATX motherboards. A full tower case will usually take both types of motherboard. A full tower case has more room inside for extras such as more hard-disk drives & cooling fans. You may have heard other words used but as long as you get the point that you need a case for your motherboard & other PC components to go into then you are doing well. The importance here is really to select the right type of case for your requirements. If you have space requirements then micro cases would be a good bet however you do limit yourself for potentional upgrades in the future. Midi cases are popular in the high street shops & usually suffice for most people as they offer some degree of scalability. A full tower case if you have the space for it gives you the most flexablity in terms of installing extras cooling fans & other gadgets.

So what case should I buy then?
Well to get to the point if you are a the avid games player then go for a full tower if you are just going to using your computer for email & looking at a website now & again ,don’t have much room then a micro-ATX case would suit. If you play a few games store your photos maybe you will want to upgrade the graphics card & add & an extra hard-disk then a midi case would be a good idea. My advice is to always plan ahead. I have fallen victim to the “I wo’t want to upgrade mind set” only having to go out & buy another graphics card to play the latest game.
Quality
Some cases should come with a hazzard warning.Some of these things are so sharp When you open a case the metal edeges inside can be rough & you are more than likely to need to push out blanking plates in order to fit DVD drives etc. It is easy to cut your hands on these edges so if you have gone for the cheap & cheerful option be careful. The cheaper cases also tend to rattle once the fans are in & spinning although this is not always true. Spending an extra bit on a decent case is always a good idea,you will also make any future upgrades or repairs easier.
